Tablet Wars

Apple is first out of the gate with its iPad and there are more tablets to come. I think Tim Challies summed-up best why the iPad falls short in his review: "iPad: The Greatest Disappointment in Human History." Time will tell, but I think the iPad was a huge misstep for Apple.

There is no love lost between Steve Jobs and Google. On the heels of the iPad comes Google with its own tablet concept that will probably be available before year's end. It will be interesting to see what  Google comes up with. You can see an early concept video here.

In the meantime, here is a handy chart comparing the iPad with the current e-readers already on the market.

The future of e-readers?

This is an interesting concept video about how e-readers, particularly for magazines, might look in the future. Probably the not too distant future.

Nook is a bit slower than Kindle

Stop the presses! The Nook is a fraction of a second slower turning pages than the Kindle. It has also been reported that the Nook boots about a minute slower as well. Nevertheless, the Nook has some nice features that will likely force the Kindle to up it's game.
